Old Faithful
Came so close to my first blowout. So much cooler watching the process in a glass carboy.

8 Hours
Fermentation of the pale ale started very quickly. Much cooler seeing it in a glass carboy than a plastic bucket. Can’t wait to start trying these.

Starting my Sierra Nevada clone and I’m still a couple weeks away from bottling the American Wheat. My new hobby is consuming my life.

Premature Bottling
A Corona bottle volunteered to be a part of the first sampling. The plan is to drink this while recovering from my LASIK procedure on Wednesday. Also it’s important to remember to keep small children away from the primary fermenter.

The Transfer
Transferring to the secondary after 10 days in the primary. Fermentation is pretty much complete and the current abv is 4.8%. Can’t believe how awesome the auto-siphon. It’s crazy how simple yet perfect it is for doing the job.

Gotta use what ya got. My improvised insulation “device.”

SG at .1018 adjusted for temperature is suggesting this may be a very light white beer. Since we are only at day 5 things could change let’s hope for a modest 4.5% abv.

Temp roughly 67 degrees and the airlock is bubbling a little under 4 times per minute. There is now a definite alcohol scent along with the ripe banana smell that the batch has had for the last several days. Waiting is definitely the hardest part of making beer.
